Kristin Deltoro

Kristin has always had an inquisitive nature. Her inclination to discover, observe and learn led her to pursue a BA in International Studies and Political Science at Manhattan College, which gave her the opportunity to travel the world. During her travels from South Africa to Indonesia, her love for culture grew. Eventually, this natural appreciation for the shared human experience found a place in yoga. The benefits of her own practice sparked a desire to share that experience, and teaching quickly became her passion.
Classes are thoughtfully sequenced, creative, playful and nurturing. Her personable style makes her classes a genuine expression of her love and understanding of yoga as a form of healing, therapy and preventative medicine. She believes that an understanding of anatomy is a vital part of teaching and incorporates her knowledge of bodywork into her teaching methods. Kristin is a registered yoga teacher through Yoga Alliance and was certified through Nosara Yoga Institute in Costa Rica. She has also completed the Primary Series Teacher Training with master teacher Tim Miller.
After 4 years of teaching, Kristin’s progression to bodywork was a natural evolution. Her passion and knowledge of the human body, nutrition, herbs and their applications, natural healing and alternative modalities has taken her teaching to new heights. Inspired by Buddhism, Taoism, Confucianism, and Vipassana meditation, her connection to eastern philosophy is evident in her teaching and body work. With the integration of massage therapy, she has found the key to self-fulfillment in a life that continually teaches her that the more she gives, the more she grows. Kristin is a certified Massage Therapist and will receive her Holistic Health Practitioner license from Mueller College in March 2011.
